The Holzhotel is made using over 70,000 bolts
Did you know that our wooden walls are totally free of glue and metal? Our walls made of solid wood have been assembled with over 70,000 wooden bolts and are fully organic. Your holiday at the Holzhotel will therefore be even more healthy and relaxing. We also took care to use only natural materials when furnishing the hotel – wooden or tiled floors and all-wooden furniture.
Allergies & living surrounded by wood
Did you know that it has been proven that you enjoy a deeper, more peaceful
and relaxed in a room made entirely of wood? It has also been proven that the
heart rate is slower and more peaceful when you sleep on wooden surfaces instead
of artificial ones. Real wood is good for all those who suffer from allergies,
and for those who would like to breathe in deeply in their room.
Guests
suffering from allergies (for example caused by house dust mites) are in the
right place in our Holzhotel. Our Holzhotel does not have any carpets and is
fully fitted with floors made of natural materials.
Moon-cut wood
The Thoma Company sawmill cuts its trees when they are not producing sap, when the moon is waning. This is why the wood is referred to as ‘moon-cut’. This ancient tradition for ensuring the longest resistance of wood against fungi and insects was commonly practised in all cultures that used wood as the major construction material. In Japan, you will find the most ancient wooden constructions in the world (1,600 years old).
