Organic out of personal conviction

So, what's the argument for going organic?  Well, we have spent some time thinking about this question and have briefly compiled some of our answers for you. Good flavour, tasting nature's freshness and a love for our own good health are perhaps the most important arguments as to why we are so convinced about the value of organic produce, though there are even more good reasons besides ....

   

Nature's Freshness

Vegetables from the farmers' market, meat from local farms and cheese from the farm store. It is a good feeling to know which people have put their love and dedication into the various products.    

   

Good Flavour & High Quality

Quite simply, the egg from a happy hen  tastes better. Animals which are fed naturally and have plenty of space to move about, are happy creatures. An apple - just as Mother Nature created it, without pesticides and not genetically engineered - embodies natural enjoyment of the very highest order.
And that also has positive effects on the flavour and quality of our meals.

For our own Good Health

Organically produced foods are naturally created, free from artificial aromas, flavour enhancers and pesticides, and not manipulated by genetic engineers. The meat of happy, free-ranging animals doesn't only taste better, it is also healthy.

In contrast to our traditional foods, animals that are the product of mass husbandry are treated with hormones, antibiotics and synthetic nutrients in order to get them on our plates as soon as possible. Lettuce, vegetables and fruits are sprayed with pesticides, soil is over-fertilised and the end products are treated with dyes, flavour enhancers and other chemicals. During digestion, we absorb many of these chemicals into our body, which can lead to a long-term drop in overall quality of life and illness.   


   

Regionality

Many of our region's farmers, who so splendidly nurture our countryside, preserving and making it freely accessible for everyone - both locals and tourists, also invest the same love into their production of foods.

Our hotel/restaurant lies in the mountains, in the midst of a natural paradise.  It is very important to us that we support the efforts of our farmers, and that we use these same products in our restaurants, ensuring that they make to the plates we set in front of our guests.  

 

Environment & Animal Protection

Organic products - in  so far as is possible - come from our own region, which means they also have less far to travel.  Fruits and vegetables from organic farms are allowed to grow naturally.

Our soil and countryside are preserved for generations to come. Animals from organic farms are fed exclusively with organic fodder, are allowed to range freely and are, therefore, happier creatures.
