The Story

A long, long time ago, when there was nothing else to be found at the Forsthofalm other than delightful alpine pastures, we would make our way up there every day, check on the cows, goats and sheep, do the milking, then bring the fresh milk back down to the valley.

Time and again, both morning and evening, we would be truly enchanted by this magnificent piece of paradise - by the scenery of meadows and mountains, by the area's flora and fauna.

And today, here at the Forsthofalm, we are proud to be able to share some of our dreams with you. Enjoy countless special moments with us amid this small and quite idyllic setting.

• 1972 The business was founded and we handled the construction work ourselves, with the invaluable assistance of countless friends - in those days, we had seating for 40 and no guest rooms for overnight stays 
  
• 1980 We commissioned the building of the access road, shortly after which we had the idea of making a natural toboggan run with floodlighting

• 1982 The Forsthofalm was expanded: We built a second restaurant with additional seating for 120-160 guests
  
• a little later, we added our guest rooms one by one. 
  
• 1996 We had to cope with a catastrophic fire.  What wasn't destroyed by the fire itself, fell victim to the smoke and water!

• In the following summer, our hotel-restaurant was rebuilt and renovated.
